Sat, April 29, 2006 - 10:39 AMYes, The Newton Boys...I just refound that movie a few days ago. I love doing that, 'refinding' movies. Is yours The Life Aquatic? Cause I think there are two choices: The Life Aquatic (my first choice) OR S.O.B. (but that is a 'vikings burial at sea') So I am going with the first.
We rock at this game!
And I'll put:
"In two of them, uh, I, a, I think the jury blamed me personnally."

Re: Quotes
Wed, May 10, 2006 - 4:11 PMPeter O'Toole!!! Umm, The Ruling Class, right? I know that O'Toole said it. So, Stephanie, I have to ask you this question (cause you tend to know all the movies that I do). Did you see that movie with Peter O'Toole and Alicia Silverstone? About a lord (disguised as a butler) who rents out his manor to a band in order to make money and save the house? No one seems to remember this one and I'm starting to think I made it up.
And for the quote, here's one that I thought of today:
"You know what the Montey Python boys say..." -
-
Re: Quotes
Wed, May 10, 2006 - 5:01 PMJeez, I can't believe you saw The Ruling Class! I saw it one night waaaaaay back in college at 2 am on a crappy portable TV that wasn't hooked up to cable, so the reception was awful. I fell in love with the movie instantly and waited patiently until it was on again, so I could tape it...(days of VCR, mind you)...
Anyway, yes, I do know which movie you're referring to, although I didn't see it all the way through....I couldn't remember the name of it at first, but it finally came to me : ..."Rock My World" Funny enough, there's another name to that very same movie: "Global Heresy".
Anyway, yours was from "Sliding Dorors", no?
I'll give you an easy one just cause it's from one of my favorites...
"The pellet with the poison's in the vessel with the pestle; the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true."
-
-
Re: Quotes
Wed, May 10, 2006 - 5:03 PMUm...yea, nice typo there Steph...trying again: "Sliding Doors" -
-
Re: Quotes
Wed, May 10, 2006 - 5:55 PMyeah, Sliding Doors. The only reason I know The Ruling Class is because I LOVE Peter O'Toole. I'm glad that someone other than me has seen 'Rock My World.' I really did think I might have been losing it.
As for yours, The Court Jester, I think. I remember that the line is used/mocked in other movies and such things, it could be from anywhere! lol, ok, if I am right, here's another easy one ( I also thought I dreamed up this movie too):
"If it was an ambulance you got a chance, if it's in a hearse, it's gotta be worse!" -
-

Re: Quotes
Sat, May 13, 2006 - 12:51 PMOk, I've thought about yours for a while...and all I can think is that it is an older movie. 1930's or something. I can see it being said, but I can't get the title. Wanna help me out? -
-
Re: Quotes
Sat, May 13, 2006 - 5:40 PMYes, it is from an older movie...1938 to be exact...classic film, and it sorta "runs in the family" with your last quote posted...hope that helps! -
-
Re: Quotes
Sat, May 13, 2006 - 6:20 PMOh, is it Bringing up Baby? It just occurred to me that I might be thinking of that movie. I'll give you a quote just in case...
